Sean Green Fail, 3-2

So, a week after sscoring 22 runs in 3 games against the Houston Astros, and scoring 18 in the first 3 games against the Rockies, the Mets are back to their old ways, scoring 4 runs in the last 2 games. The offensively challenged Arizona Diamondbacks (heh, who am I to call them offensively challenged? They've outscored us) scored 3 runs. In fact, of the 5 runs scored today, all but one came on solo home runs, with Murphy (6) and Wright (7) hitting them for the Mets. The other run came on a wild pitch. Which leads me to Jerry's use of Sean Green. Green came in with a runner on in the 8th inning no outs. He hit the next guy. Then he walked the next guy. So at this point, he's shown no control what so ever. So bring him out. Bring in Parnell or, Misch, or even Frankie Rodriguez. At this point, the levarage is 3.17. Baseball Prospectus says that the relief ace should be brought in before the ninth whenever the levarage (measures how important a situation is, 1 is normal, above is high levarge situation, below, is below levarage situation) is higher than 2.32. Frankie ended up being used in the 9th, when we were behind by one run. If you want to get him work, bring him in now. He's the relief ace. Or bring in someone else, please, like Parnell, he's been ok this year, come on Jerry. But the next guy grounds into a double play. Okay, he got the DP, take him out Jerry, take him out, bring in a guy who strikes out a lot, like Frankie, who has 9.25 K/9, or Parnell, come on Jerry. No. You stick with Green, he throws the wild pitch. And the Mets lose. Happy now Jerry? I can blame this loss on you, for bullpen mismanagement. We've now lost 2 in a row; both games, we could've won if Jerry had managed the bullpen the right way. Also, there is severe mlb.com boxscore fail; they give the loss to Green, but the run is charged to Feliciano. His runner got thrown out at home. ESPN has the right boxscore.
Stupid Decision of the Day: Keeping Green in the 8th. He knows and we know he's extremely wild. Hitting and walking the first 2 should say "I don't have it tonight".
Random Thought of the Day: Ever since the Murph started batting 6th we've lost 2 in a row. He batted 4th during the winning streak. Coincidence?
Clutch Play of the Day: Miguel Montero double play in the 8th. +2.74% WPA.
Up Next for the Mets: Diamondbacks vs Mets 7:10 ET
Oliver Perez (2-3 7.42 ERA, 6.54 FIP, 7.41 tRA)
will try to strikeout more than he walks.
Max Scherzer (6-6, 3.61 ERA, 3.43 FIP, 3.21 tRA) pitches for Arizona.
