Figgy, Francoeur, Mets win 9-0

The bad news: Jonathon Niese has apparently torn his right hamstring. He was covering first, and did a split, and then while throwing a warm up, appeared to tear it and hurt his knee. Gary Sheffield hit a single, and aggravated his hamstring. So that's 3 injuries in 2 days, plus the news that Reyes had a setback. Oh joy.
The good news: The Mets scored 9 runs. David Wright hit an opposite field home run (good news, he always used to do that), Pagan finished a double shy of the cycle as he hit a home run (right handed), Nelson Figueroa hit a triple (yes, that right, here, Kyle Lohse said "f**k as Figgy hit it), and he pitched 4.1 scoreless and struck out five in relief of Niese. He should get another chance. Bobby Parnell pitched 3 innings for the save, and got a base hit, and is also considered as a starter in replace of Niese. A nice win, though I don't think we're going to the playoffs. If we wanna get to 90 wins (which coolstandings.com reckons is what is needed to win the wild card), we have to go 39-16. Which probably won't happen. Especially now that we will have Livan and Figgy in the same rotation. It's a shame Niese gets hurt, I felt like this would be a great chance to shine, and he didn't do all that badly in his 2 starts. Hopefully his injury is not serious, and he'll be back. I doubt that, but he should be in the rotation next year.
Stupid Decision of the Day: Nothin'. Though I do have issue with Parnell going 3; he's now unavailable for tomorrow.
Random Thought of the Day: Are we cursed?
Clutch Play of the Game: Wright 2 run homer in 1st, +16.4% WPA
Up Next for Mets: 4 game series at San Diego, 10:05 ET
Livan Hernandez (7-5 4.77 ERA, 4.56 FIP, 5.57 tRA) looks to not get injured.
Clayton Richard (4-3 4.47 ERA, 4.44 FIP, 5.01 tRA with CHW, 4.37 tRA w/SDP)
