So this is what it'll be like. Lose 8-3

The man replacing Jon Niese is going to be Bobby Parnell, and he will pitch Saturday, because Mike Pelfrey is becoming a dad (congrats, Big Pelf). Now, if Niese hadn't got injured, it could of eventually meant the end of Livan Hernandez. Despite such horrible starts, like tonight, for instance, it looks like the "34" year old will still be in the rotation. Livan went 5, gave up 7 , walked 4 and struck out 2. The Mets scored 3 in the 6th, on a single by Francoeur that drew and error, a Tatis single, and then Murphy grounded into a double play that scored a run. Tatis and Murphy both went 2/4. Elmer Dessens and Sean Green went scoreless innings, while Tim Redding reverted back to his usual form, and gave up a run on 3 hits and a walk. Really, there's not much to say, except that we're 11 back in the East, and 9 back in the wild card, 6 under .500, and since we won 5 in a row, we've gone 2-6.
Stupid Decision of the Day: Nitpicky, very nitpicky, but playing Angel Berroa. I thought Tatis could play second? Jeremy Reed/Cory Sullivan are better than Angel Berroa.
Random Thought of the Day: I really wish the Mets got rid of Livan. He's been there far too long. By this time, you might as well pitch Alex Cora, except you need him at second.
Clutch Play of the Game: Tatis RBI single in 6th. +4.8%.
Up Next for the Mets: Mets at Padres, 10:05 PM
Oliver Perez (2-3, 7.03 ERA, 6.48 FIP, 7.25 tRA) looks to get out of the 5th inning.
Kevin Correia (7-9, 4.73 ERA, 3.99 FIP, 4.56 tRA) goes for San Diego
