Mets trade deadline
In response to what my colleague has already stated, the reason the Mets did nothing at the deadline (even though stupid GM said thy were buyers) is that they have one of the highest pay rolls in the majors and don't want to give away any of their top prospects. If a trade did go down you might be looking at F-Mart in another teams uni. So be happy Mets fans, although I understand your frustration that Kazmir isn't on a plane to La Guardia no top prospect have been lost. The only way the Mets can get better is by keeping their prospects and developing them into either good players that can bring the team success or trade bait. Right now we are relying on a carrer .263 hitter (Tatis) and the ancient, alibi very good except for one dropped ball Luis Castillo. The Mets have a solid core of Wright, Beltran, Santana, K-Rod, and Reyes is to the Mets as Y is to the vowels. Not completely needed but add flashiness. Throw in F-Mart, Niese, and Murphy, the Mets have the tools to build a winning team. Maybe also Francoeur can turn this streak of good games into long term success, he could fit into the puzzle. So even though the Mets didn't make any moves this year so far, we have a lot to look forward to in 5-10 years.
