The Day in Review, whats next

Its been a big day in baseball, but not for the Mets.
  • ESPN reports that Matt Holliday has been traded to the Cardinals by the A's for 3 prospects.
  • The Phillies are close to acquiring Roy Halladay, according to Metsblog. So give them the divison. Wait they're not close. Wait they are. Just do it already. Next year's gonna suck too, if they have Halladay
  • John Maine is heading to Dr James Andrews after having pain in his shoulder. May be shut down. He has only made 36 starts in the last two years. At this point, he is a waste of money, especially if they're short on money after Madoff. See if he will sign a lower deal in the winter, maybe $900,000 plus incentives.
  • From the same story Jose Reyes ran the bases. He may be back soon, will run full speed on Saturday. Knowing our luck, he'll tear his hamstring, and will be out for the rest of the year.
Coming up for the Mets: 3 at Houston. Starts today, at 8:05 PM ET.
Johan Santana (11-7, 2.92 ERA, 3.73 FIP) looks to have another quality start. Last two starts: 14 IP, 0 R, 10 K's, 3BB, 10 H. He faces
Mike Hampton (5-7, 4.63 ERA, 4.11 FIP)

Jon Niese starts tomorrow!!! Yay!!!
